Dorena Volkmann

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions:

Are you qualified and recognized by professional associations?

I am a state-certified alternative practitioner ,

Osteopath trained at Sutherland College

and state-certified physiotherapist .

My focus is exclusively osteopathic .

In addition, I have completed two certified pediatric osteopathy training courses .

I am recognized by various osteopathic professional associations for the treatment of adults as well as children and infants.

Can I get a reimbursement from my health insurance?

This is only possible to a limited extent.

For privately insured persons:

It depends on your insurance plan—specifically, on the reimbursement of services according to the Heilpraktikergebührordnung (Heilpraktiker Fee Schedule, GebüH). Please clarify this directly with your private insurer BEFORE treatment.

For those with statutory insurance:

How can I pay?

Directly after the treatment in cash or with these payment methods at the payment terminal :

Hygiene : When making contactless payments, please check the amount of money you have authorized (most card providers or banks only allow €20-30 for small purchases by default! This would need to be changed before treatment, otherwise contactless payment will unfortunately not work).

When will I receive my invoice for reimbursement?

As soon as possible after the treatment, i.e. within a period of time from direct email after the treatment (if you have been to me before and all data has already been registered) up to a maximum of the end of the week (if this is your first time for treatment).

How does a treatment work?

Detailed medical history

It is particularly important to me to accurately determine the origin of their complaints, including their social and professional context, as well as the use of their body in everyday life and during leisure time, and their diet.

Differential diagnosis of other diseases

Especially during the initial treatment, the question always arises as to whether you might be suffering from illnesses that cannot be treated osteopathically.

Example: You think you’ve strained your calf while exercising and therefore make an appointment with me at my practice. However, it could also be a thrombosis. This is a case for the emergency room, and osteopathic treatment isn’t indicated.

inspection

If no differential diagnosis has been reached, the body is then inspected. Deviations, tensions, deformities…all of this is put into context. A problem is never treated only locally, but the entire body is always considered, including all previous influences (surgery, inflammation, bruises, accidents, etc.).

Palpation

In osteopathy, for example, not only the muscles are examined locally, but the whole body is viewed as a unit, various systemic connections are taken into account and the tension is felt.

Security tests

There are various tests that should be performed to ensure the safety of the patient during treatment.

Treatment

The treatment is usually gentle and painless, allowing the nervous system, which reacts to pain, to relax. Sometimes, direct fascia techniques are also used, which are necessary to release severe restrictions or adhesions in the connective tissue.

Do I need to bring anything with me to the treatment? Can I prepare?

If you have any findings, please feel free to bring them with you or send them to me in advance as a PDF to praxisvolkmann@t-online.de

It would be best if you wear comfortable clothing for the treatment and little to no jewelry, simply to save time in case you need to remove it (earrings, necklaces, bracelets).

Note on the treatment room

The treatment room is equipped with a HEPA air filter !
